At least . . . almost.
Over at BloggingTips.com (BT) this week, I posted a review of sorts of ArticleMarketer.com. Since I started using this article submission service, it's almost doubled my affiliate marketing income. My first article was distributed on January 11th, and it's working like a dream.
To learn more, read the two posts I wrote there yesterday and Tuesday. They are: Article Marketing: Is it Worth It to Submit to Thousands of Directories in One Click (Tuesday's post); and How ArticleMarketer.com Has Almost Doubled My Affiliate Marketing Sales (yesterday's post).
I'm new to this whole affiliate marketing thing, as I've said here before. So it's fascinating to see what works, why and what doesn't. This is especially true because I literally have to squeeze this in between duties of my "real job" (freelance writer).
ArticleMarketer.com Feedback
If you have any experience with ArticleMarketer, or another submission service, please share it here so that those who are interested can get first-hand info about it. Your experience may be different from mine. There are some comments to my articles on BT, so be sure to check those out. I guess what I'm saying is before you plunk down any dollars, do your research.
The Latest Edition of the Inkwell Editorial Newsletter Is Out
The first issue of 2009 went out on Tuesday. If you haven't signed up to receive it, do so here. This issue covers how to make money with Constant-Content.com. I'd always wondered if you can really make money with the site; and if so, how. I interviewed freelance Lisa-Anne Sanderson, who's sold upwards of 200 articles on the site -- garnering from $10 to $100 each. She gave us the inside scoop.
Also, I talk about how to make money from special reports. I've done two in the last 4 months or so. Because of this, I've landed a higher echelon of client, am selling my most expensive service at New Media Words ($595) like gangbusters and am getting to a place where I get to do more picking and choosing of the types of projects I work on.
All of this came from the special reports I wrote. I explain how and why in the newsletter.
2009 so far has been busy on so many fronts; I barely have time to breathe. I hope the same is true for you. Until next time,
Yuwanda (Wanna know what I'm up to? Check me out on Twitter)

POST #22: 40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career
PUBLISHER NOTE: If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you know about the upcoming freelance writing seminar in October. Details.
Many have inquired about what will be discussed at the seminar. So, in order to answer your questions and to get you prepared for what to expect, I started a series of posts entitled "40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career."
To start at the beginning, click here. And, welcome to the blog. Now, on to today’s post . . .
How Naming Your Files Descriptively Can Lead to Cash
As Dan Rosandich, the featured interviewee in the latest edition of Inkwell Editorial's newsletter (published today) noted, getting noticed online is one of the things you can do to snag clients.
Dan wrote:
Learn web design yourself and don't let anyone do it for you. Because if you do, you immediately lose all control of the way you want it to look and how it should appear to potential clients. . . . Learn some HTML, it sounded complicated when I first began studying but I slowly became a freak / geek and developed a love / hate relationship with coding....it gets more interesting as you go along because you soon realize all the potential the web has to offer in getting you "out there" - - -In keeping with this spirit, today's post is a simple tip I picked up a long time ago from some reading on how to get noticed online.
A Tip to Get You Noticed Online
When you name anything you upload -- files, photos, video, etc. give it a descriptive, meaningful name. For example, instead of name a picture photo1.jpg, name it, tips-on-freelance-writing.jpg, if that's what it's used for.
Why? Because when search engines crawl the web, they look for words that describe something. And, when they pick it up -- no matter what the file type (.jpg, .htm., etc.), it can still be picked up when people search for it. Note the following Google result when I typed in the phrase, "Freelance Writing Newletter".
[PDF] Inkwell Editorial Freelance Writing NewsletterFile Format: PDF/Adobe AcrobatIssue 3: July 18, 2007 can be found at http://www.inkwelleditorial.com/Newsletter/7-18-07-. freelance-writing-newsletter.pdf. Always editorially yours, ...inkwelleditorial.com/Newsletter/8-15-07-freelance-writing-newsletter.pdf - Similar pages - Note this
FYI, this is the #11 result on Google (not the first page, but hey, you can't win'em all) -- not bad considering there must be thousands of freelance writing e-zines out there. And, note that my newsletter is a .pdf file.
BUT, as I have the phrase "Freelance Writing Newletter" as part of my naming mechanism, whenever someone types in that phrase to search for info, my newsletter is going to pop up in their results -- hopefully one day soon on page one :-).
Now, I sell ebooks. So, if they curiously open up my newsletter, read it, and like the content, they are likely to become a subscriber -- for possibly years to come. How likely do you think it will be that at some point in time they will purchase an ebook?
See how naming your files descriptively can lead to cash -- for years to come?
It's hard to get found on the net, using little tips and tricks like this can be one more way you reach hundreds and some day thousands of readers.
Helpfully yours,
Yuwanda

4-Eyed Writers & Free Ebooks!
I went to the eye doctor today, which got me to wondering, "Are there any writers with perfect vision?" I dare say if there are, it's due to laser surgery.
Good things come with four eyes is my mantra -- and I'm sticking to it! BUT, I digress.
My doctor put some drops in my eyes -- some kind of eye test -- and it burnt like the dickens. My point -- I can't see close up. It's going to take 3-5 hours for my vision to get back to normal (which, in reality, I should not be excited about).
Anyway, I will be posting the entry scheduled for today, Are freelance writers the poorest internet entrepreneurs? tomorrow. I had planned to finish and proof it today -- but I can't see clearly enough to do so.
Thank God for willing mates to bail you out (he wasn't about to stay still long enough to type and proof the entire post, however).
Here's something you might like: Get a FREE Ebook on Article Marketing. How? Click here for details.
Hasta manana and send up a prayer for me wee ole eyeballs!
