How to Gain an Instant Following Online

I now Twitter! Upon signup, I immediately had a following of . . . 3! Hey, not bad for a few seconds. I like Twitter b/c it literally takes a few seconds to update. With my schedule, this fits perfectly.

So, if you ever wonder what I'm doing on any given day (M-F), just follow me on Twitter, for it's going to be a regular part of my day.

Marathon Day Run

For those who read the Inkwell Editorial Newsletter, you know I've been in training for the half marathon (13.1 miles) that was held on Thanksgiving Day (Atlanta). I finished in 2:25:09. I ran the whole thing.

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to run the entire distance b/c my training had been so sporadic. But, I gutted it out. Now, I have two marathon medals (did the full marathon in Nov 2006) and am in training for my third, the ING Marathon in March here in Atlanta.

I'm officially a marathon girl! And, as I literally ate my way through the holiday weekend (and the season has just begun), this is a very good thing.

I didn't know you were in Atlanta. I lived there for a few years. Did you watch the Real Housewives of Atlanta? That was entertainment, lol.

Do you recommend Twitter for marketing? I keep hearing that it's good for marketing and networking, but I have not joined.

L., yeah Atlanta is my primary residence, but I have an apartment in New York City that I never gave up (hey, rent stabilitization is a beautfiul thing). I go back often to visit friends and just enjoy the city. At heart, I'm a New Yorker (by birth a Floridian, but I really think I was born in the wrong state -- New York City (ie, Manhattan) is soooo me!).

As for marketing via Twitter, I don't know how effective it is, as I just started with them today. BUT, I love the ease of it. My work days are so hectic and as you can only use 140 characters per "Tweet," it's the perfect medium for someone like me.

It makes it easy to stay in touch -without putting in any real time. And, it's a rather fun, personalized way to communicate. I think I've finally found a social marketing outlet I can live with (most of them are too cumbersmone and time consuming for me).

So, give it a try. It's free. And, if you do, follow me on there and I'll be sure to follow you as well.

Oh, L. as for the Real Housewives of Atlanta, yeah, I watched about five or six episodes. I don't know any "real" housewives like that -- in Atlanta or anyplace else for that matter. The show reminded me of being back in high school. Some of those women were so pretentious and immature.

But, it did make for great entertainment. :-)
